I have been a Counsellor in practice since 1995.
For a number of years I worked within the NHS with a range of people who lurched from one crisis to another- often brought on past traumas.
I directed a team who won a National Award for our specialist expertise in working with homeless men and women some with severe mental health issues.
This experience has helped me in my private practice as all of us can fall repeatedly into situations that can be very undermining and unhelpful, impacting on our everyday lives.
My role is to try gently, to help my client have a greater understanding of themselves, and take real control over their lives.
I work mostly with individuals but occasionally it has been helpful to invite partners for a session, where the client has been reluctant to disclose particularly difficult issues.

Qualifications and Training
My formal training was in Psychodynamic Counselling which is still very relevant to how I work. However, ‘my tool box’ today is far more eclectic as I have studied and trained in other approaches.
I have ongoing Supervision which offers me an important thinking space for my clients.
I am a Senior Accredited Counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I fully comply with the BACP’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
I can be contacted on 07802 468956 or by email at [email protected]
Online sessions are also available.
Initially I offer an hour-long assessment session to see if we are comfortable to work together and I feel I can help. Then we establish the number of future sessions likely to be necessary and my fee is £100 an hour.
Each session thereafter is one hour long.
