In the same way as you might take charge of your physical health by eating healthy foods, being more active or seeing your doctor, I encourage clients to think of counselling as a positive way to take charge of their mental wellbeing.
The safe and confidential space I provide is yours to bring whatever you need to. Perhaps you’re feeling limited by anxiety, struggling with depression, or having relationship issues. If you’ve experienced loss of any kind – from bereavement through to job loss – I can help you process what has happened. Perhaps you’re stuck in a rut or simply feel life could be better. Together we will work through what is troubling you, gently, at your pace.
Counselling helps you to tune into your feelings and get to know yourself on a deeper level, including how past events in your life have impacted you and may still be affecting you. With more self-awareness, you will develop a kinder, more positive relationship first with yourself and then with others.
Counselling can be short-term or long-term, but it isn’t forever. My aim is to empower you to develop your ‘internal counsellor’ so that you can move forward in life with more self-understanding, self-compassion and confidence.
I tailor my approach to suit the individual needs of the client, but all my therapeutic work is underpinned by a belief that everyone can find a way through their problems and grow as a person, whatever difficulties life has thrown at them.
Qualifications and Training
I have an Integrative Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am a Registered Member of the BACP, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
As part of my training, I worked for CCIWBS, a London bereavement charity, and Future Living Hertford, a domestic violence charity. Continuing training is an important part of my practice to enable me to keep up with the latest developments in counselling and offer the best service to my clients.
I have regular supervision and adhere to the BACP’s professional code of ethics. I place client care and confidentiality at the forefront of my practice.
The relationship between a client and counsellor is key to successful therapy, which is why I recommend having a no-obligation trial session first. To arrange this, call me on 07877 246782 or email me at [email protected]
I charge £70 for the first session, which includes an assessment, and then £80 per session thereafter. Each session lasts 50 minutes. Online and phone sessions are also offered.
